Today we are going to clean the basement, that looks like a tornado has torn though it, Scattering toys and such so that the floor is barely visible to the eye. The children were sent to start this daunting task, as I lay the baby down for her morning nap.
Moments pass when the sounds of terror filter up the stairs. I start heading down the stairs questioning “what in the world is going on?”. Mom there is a snake in the basement! What? I live in the city what is a snake doing in my basement. Sure enough my three older children are standing on various furniture peering over at the snake who is comfortably laying in the middle of my basement floor amidst various toys.
Now I don’t do snakes. I don’t even like being in the snake house at the zoo. So course of action? Call husband. Although it is what I do it was probably not the best course of action to take, seeing as how dear husband is more afraid of snakes than I am. Now He wants to move to a new house. Next step, post on facebook to get input from the online community. Now I had much better luck with this one. I appreciate those who can keep their heads in a moment of crisis. Yes, animal control removes snakes from your home. I am forever grateful to the one who removed this dreadful animal.
I have worn shoes the rest of the day throughout the house and carefully tread. Oh and for those who are wondering, it was a baby king snake.
