About Me

Hi! I’m Colieblack!

My husband and I live in Southern Illinois with our 5 teenage children. I am a home educator, and fun fact both my husband and I were home-school graduates as well. We own a painting company that we run together. We also live on 7 acres and are wannabe homesteaders. With owning a company we don’t always get the chance to spend as much time as we want on the homestead part, but we enjoy the time we do.

We have chickens (my personal favorite), pigs, dogs, cats. I love working in our garden, as I love to see things grow, and hard work pay off in produce. Even if I’m not very good at it, I’m learning 🙂

I also love building, crocheting, and just having a project going. I built our kitchen table, our bed, mudroom rack, and entertainment center. I’m not sure what will be next so I’ll be sure to post here when inspiration strikes.

I’ve also been trying my hand at sourdough making of late. Talk about another learning experience. Lots of trial and error.

My other love is traveling. I’m excited to share our future travels with you.

Lastly, but most importantly, I am a bible believing follower of Christ. I try to honor Him with all I do, and be a good steward of what He has entrusted to us here.
